At Copenhagen Opera Festival, we are very excited to open up and share the process of creating a new Opera, right from the very beginning. Obviously some people will accuse me of being unfair, judging a building without having been inside the most important space, but to be fair to me, I had deliberately not written about the building on this site while I could only judge it in terms of planning and its urban setting. The Opera is situated in Copenhagen’s inner harbour and completes the historical axis running from the Marble Church through Amalienborg and into the Opera – right at the stage front where the performing artists and their audience meet.
